In 1926, at the request of Jan Wedel, one of the most popular advertising graphics in Poland was created - the silhouette of a boy riding a striped zebra, carrying bars of chocolate. The creator of the creation was the Italian painter and caricaturist Leonetto Cappiello, called the father of modern poster and advertising art. To this day, a neon sign with a boy on a zebra can be found on the roof of the oldest “Pijalni Czekolady E.Wedel” (E. Wedel Chocolate Lounges) at Szpitalna Street in Warsaw. Traditional Italian Tiramisu flavour encased in dark Wedel chocolate. A perfect combination for those, who are looking for an extra chocolate experience. In 1893 a tenement house, called Emil Wedel's tenement house, was built at Szpitalna Street in Warsaw. There was a shop and a chocolate pump room on the ground floor, which still exists today where one could meet Bolesław Prus and Henryk Sienkiewicz, famous Polish writers.
